This Happened: I Got Engaged To A Doritos Locos Taco

Tanner Faragher isn’t your average high school student, probably because he’s engaged to a Doritos® Locos Taco.

We all love Doritos® Locos Tacos, but how do you become engaged to one? It’s a valid question. For Tanner it was as simple as using his mother’s wedding veil, purchasing a ring and staging an elaborate engagement photo shoot. It’s probably one of the greatest acts of fandom we’ve ever seen. Here’s how the story unfolded, as told by Tanner himself:

Q: How did you know the Doritos® Locos Taco was the one?
A: The Doritos® Locos Taco was one of the main reasons why I started loving Taco Bell®. I remember hearing about it and tried it out a few days after it was released. I thought, "This is the greatest idea in the history of the world." I'm not even kidding.

Q: It's life changing, right?
A: It honestly is.

Q: What inspired you to propose?
A: One day I came across my mom's wedding veil and just thought, "You know what would be a crazy idea? To see if I could pull off getting engaged to a Doritos® Locos Taco." I asked her if i could borrow it and she said, “Sure, as long as you keep it clean.”

Q: So your mom knew about the proposal?
A: Yeah, she was the first one to know.

Q: And the rest of your family approves of the engagement?
A: Yeah, they love Taco Bell® a lot.

Q: What did your friends think?
A: When I posted it, it got so many comments on Twitter and everyone was like, "Oh my gosh! What is that?!" Not in a negative way, but in a positive way. They were so surprised and shocked. It was hilarious. I got so many texts. They thought it was awesome.

Q: Where exactly did you take the photos?
A: My photographer and I both live in Utah, and there's this place called the Alpine Loop in Provo Canyon. He suggested it because it was summer time, and thought it would be the perfect setting for an engagement shoot. You see never ending trees, it's dreamy and airy. It all just came together really perfectly.

Q: Who was your photographer?
A: He's a really good friend of mine named Brolin Roney. I've known him for a pretty long time. He loves doing random, fun shoots and loves Taco Bell® almost as much as I do.

Q: What have you done to celebrate your engagement?
A: We decided to go to my local Taco Bell®, and invited some friends and family. I got some funny pictures of me cutting a cake and the Doritos® Locos Taco getting cake on my face.

Q: Is there another photo shoot in the future?
A: That's definitely a possibility... I would love to do something else.
